Work as an independent consultant advising Kuwait Finance House on identifying target sectors and value propositions for their real estate investment in Iskandar Malaysia focused on the Creative Digital Media industry. Currently working with KFH to build and launch a private equity fund focused on digital media companies linked to their investment in the Creative Zones for the Iskandar Malaysia real estate development across the causeway from Singapore.

Mr. Friedman lead the development of the Family Office practice at OFN providing technology solutions and strategies for wealth management firms serving high net worth individuals and family/multifamily offices. He was successful in bringing in over $1 billion dollar in assets to the platform including the firms first single family office.

Advised emerging market governments on economic development strategies

As Managing Director in the consulting group for CB Richard Ellis, the world’s largest commercial real estate services firm, Mr. Friedman focused on advising Fortune 1000 clients on how to deploy and optimize fixed assets across their global value chains and on the other end, advising emerging market governments in the Middle East, Asia and Latin America on competitive positioning and marketing architecture to attract Foreign Direct Investment. Mr. Friedman's major client engagement under CBRE Consulting was providing strategy and analysis for the Saudi Royal Family and the Bahraini Government around a large billion dollar real estate development technology park in Bahrain. David also led a team at CBRE which helped to pioneer real options use for corporate clients of which the case studies where published in the Real Estate Finance Journal.

Developed venture philanthropic strategy for women's preventive health in emerging countries which was launched by Queen Nor and Bill Clinton in Palo Alto

Co-founded with Michael Yang (founder of MySimon which was acquired by CNET for $700M) an online automotive comparison search engine to 50 people; hired the former CEO of Nissan; secured financing from the top angels in Silicon Valley.

Provided strategy consulting services to high growth technology firms and industry leaders. Clients included Incyte Genomics, Cisco, Sony as well as several large non-profits such as Prison Fellowship.
