About Uisdean Vass

I have some 35 years experience advising mainly oil companies in the UK and throughout the World. I have worked in many different aspects of the oil business. I began with oil and gas litigation in New Orleans (1987 to 1992) and then went on to advise oil companies in new business opportunities in Argentina (1992) Venezuela (1993 to 2001) and then Brazil (2001 to 2003) During that time I also advised national oil companies and oil service companies. I returned home to the UK in 2003 and since then I have largely been advising oil companies in the UKCS, onshore UK and internationally. Much of my recent international focus has been in Africa. I am involved in giving advice on the new MER regime in the UK and I also advise governments on regulatory matters. The heart of my practice lies in advising oil companies on licencing and doing deals, whether through farmouts, assets sales or company sales.
