I am currently serving as:• SIFT PI on Army’s Advanced Teaming program, investigating distributed planning and execution, team coordination and adaptation, and plan self-assessment for decentralized air operations.• SIFT PI on DARPA’s SCORE (Systematizing Confidence in Open Research and Evidence) program developing methods to understand scientific publications using NLP and probabilistic reasoning methods• SIFT PI on DIU Collaborative Tactical Autonomy with Networked Aircraft (CTANA) program, applying target selection and prioritization algorithms to DIU challenge problems for the AFRL’s Golden Horde program.• SIFT co-PI on AFRL Phase 2 SBIR REFLECT (Robust Ecosystem for LifECycle Transparency), developing a rich suite of tools that share an integrative representation of “plays”, plans and capabilities and which help to distribute awareness of Situation Awareness Transparency (SAT) about those plays and plans throughout the lifecycle of human interaction with automation (in contract negotiations).

I served asthe SIFT principal investigator (PI) for the AFRL Distributed Operations (DistrO) program, PI on SIFT's DARPA SCORE program effort, subcontracting to TwoSix Labs, and co-PI for DARPA's COMPASS program subcontracting to Raytheon BBN Technologies. Additionally, I serve as a technical area lead in our DARPA ASIST (Artificial Social Intelligence for Successful Teams) and DARPA TAILOR (Teaching AI to Leverage Overlooked Residuals) efforts. In the past, I have served as the PI on Navy SBIR Phase 1 project entitled MPRIMUS (Mission Planning for Resources in Integrated Mixed Undersea Systems), co-PI on Army SBIR Phase 1 entitled VANESSA (Virtual Analysis Networks and Explanations for Social Sensing Analysis), and PI on our ONR-funded HACKAR (Helpful Advice for Code Knowledge and Attack Resilience) project. I also led our cyber-attack planning and recognition efforts in SIFT's DARPA MRC (Mission-Resilient Clouds) contract, entitled "STRATUS: Strategic and Tactical Resiliency Against Threats to Ubiquitous Systems." I led our counter-planning, contingency analysis, status recognition, and hierarchical plan repair efforts in SIFT's DARPA CODE contract, entitled "SUPERC3DE: Supervisory Control for Collaboration and Contingency Delegation," and our machine self-confidence elicitation efforts in SIFT's AFRL contract, entitled "Self-Confidence in Automation."Prior to joining SIFT, I served as a Faculty Research Scientist at the University of Maryland, Institute for Advanced Computer Studies (UMIACS). I served as the co-PI on UMd's NGA grant, entitled "Behavioral Network Diagrams: Models and Algorithms" and on UMd's (and later SIFT's) DARPA OBTW contract entitled "S-3: Suggestions for Suitable Scenarios." I was also technical lead on University of Maryland's DARPA Transfer Learning and Integrated Learning efforts previously.
