SEA CAPTAIN AND MOVIE ACTORSea Captain and Movie Actor might sound as an odd combination. However - this rather unique synthesis has proven to add value to the served Ship Owner or Movie Production in a number of ways. Whilst starting out at sea already as a teenager, I got some years later a Sea Captain degree (Nautical Science) from the Stockholm Maritime Academy. The career in the Merchant Marine continued thereafter out as deck officer on the trade between Latin America and Europe. For the last couple of years, I have mainly taken on assignments as Captain on yachts in the Pacific, Caribbean and in the Arctic (ref www.ulfstrom.se).Being a sailor means also periods of free time in between the onboard assignments. A couple of years ago I got the coincidental opportunity to jump in as a suddenly needed Extra to support my wife Eva Louise in a role for a commercial film production. This led quickly to a number of other movie roles incl. two as a captain (partly just because I hand my own uniform). Did early out in the career also work ashore within marketing and sales. Prior to founding ScanAlliance Limited, London, in 2001, I was the Senior Vice President for ViaPay Technologies Ltd, London.Before joining ViaPay, I was the Managing Director for ACI Worldwide (Nordic) AB, a subsidiary of ACI Worldwide Inc (NASDAQ: ACIW), one of the worlds largest suppliers of payment technology. My previous career includes the successful establishment of three new business operations in the Nordic Countries on behalf of Cable & Wireless Ltd., GlobeSet Inc. and ACI Worldwide (EMEA) Ltd. Also extensive experience from the computer hardware and telecommunications industries, including sales executive positions for Tandem Computers/Compaq, General Electric (USA) Information Services and France Telecom.I have also experience from complex International project work; for example, representing Cable & Wireless Ltd. in the management of the European BOLERO-project, which at that time was funded by the EU.
