Assistant Director, Student Government Advising (Ga & Grsos) | Lead Center
-Serve as the lead graduate student adviser in the LEAD Center.-Advise the 200+ member Graduate Assembly, a subsidiary of the 501(c)(3) Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC), the autonomous students' association on campus and only autonomous association in the UC system.The ASUC/GA control significant funding for over 1000 sponsored organizations at over $2 million dollars, advocate on behalf of students to solve issues on campus and in the community, engage with administrators to develop programming, advocate for student-organizational resources and campus transparency.-Offer technical support for graduate student-initiated programs and assist in coordination of major events such as the Empowering Women of Color Conference (EWOCC), New Graduate Student Orientation, GradFest and Graduate Student Appreciation Week in partnership with the Graduate Division.-Oversee co-curricular and leadership development advising services for ~300 graduate student organizations across departments, schools and graduate or professional programs.-Oversee the Graduate Assembly Business Office, with staff oversight of 6 undergraduate and graduate student employees.
