-Serve as the lead graduate student adviser in the LEAD Center.-Advise the 200+ member Graduate Assembly, a subsidiary of the 501(c)(3) Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC), the autonomous students' association on campus and only autonomous association in the UC system.The ASUC/GA control significant funding for over 1000 sponsored organizations at over $2 million dollars, advocate on behalf of students to solve issues on campus and in the community, engage with administrators to develop programming, advocate for student-organizational resources and campus transparency.-Offer technical support for graduate student-initiated programs and assist in coordination of major events such as the Empowering Women of Color Conference (EWOCC), New Graduate Student Orientation, GradFest and Graduate Student Appreciation Week in partnership with the Graduate Division.-Oversee co-curricular and leadership development advising services for ~300 graduate student organizations across departments, schools and graduate or professional programs.-Oversee the Graduate Assembly Business Office, with staff oversight of 6 undergraduate and graduate student employees.

-Engage with an overall caseload of 25,000 undergraduates within our college, about 75% of the undergraduate student body on campus. -Developing a new programming framework to increase pre-professional engagement within our office by building our pre-law advising model.-Coordinated and supported efforts in our Academic Difficulty Committee, promoting students success for students currently on academic probation or subject to dismissal through workshop and intrusive advising methods with our assigned caseloads.-Spearheaded our Office’s Transfer Recruitment and Yield efforts on behalf of the College of Letters & Science.-Building cross-campus partnerships to offer new programs, services and outreach to various populations by connecting with Navigating Cal (NavCal) students, the Transfer Student Center, the Multicultural Student Development (MSD) offices among others.-Train new College Advisers to acquaint them with key partner services for stronger holistic support for students.-Research various advising models and best practices in supporting nontraditional populations like transfers, undocumented students, or pre-law students.-Guide about 175-200 newly admitted freshmen during the summer months in the adjustment and transition to Berkeley through Golden Bear Advising/Orientation.

-Developed software proficiency with Banner 9, SARS, Argos, and Starfish. -Managed our Early Alert program in order to work with faculty across multiple departments to identify students that may need additional social, academic, financial or emotional support to be successful.-Provided social, emotional and academic support to our “at-risk” nontraditional student populations on academic or progress probation with a caseload of hundreds of students.-Advised our primary undocumented student organization on campus.-Collaborated with the Undocu Support Working Group through grant-writing and research to build the infrastructure and resources necessary to create a Dream Center on campus.-Outreached to local district high school students and noncredit ESL students to assist with registration efforts.-Spearheaded campus efforts to increase basic needs security on campus by providing logistical support to our Food Security Taskforce and working across departments to address the issue.-Trained and provide professional development to our 15 Student Ambassador program student leaders.

-Addressed emerging diversity and inclusion issues among the student body. -Collaborated and planned equity initiatives with the Office of Student Affairs and our own individual programs. -Bridged and partnered with faculty, administrators, and students to ensure an equitable and inclusive university community. -Outreached to diverse student groups and promote inter-community dialogues and engagement. -Created tools to prepare educators to leave HGSE to lead in a diverse world. -Developed personal capacity to plan, facilitate, and assess equity programming through training and retreats.

-Evaluated over 500 applications to the HLS JD program through Slate, the admissions reader software system.-Collaborated with office staff on clerical tasks as needed, such as greeting visitors at the reception desk or dealing with applicant inquiries.-Supported pre- and post-admissions yield recruitment activities, programs such as the Admitted Students Weekend that brought over 200 students to campus for an immersion experience.

-Taught 3 Education transition courses, totaling over 90 students, on subjects related to student retention, campus resources, career and post-graduate planning.-Provided personal and professional development to students through workshops, outreach and skills-building opportunities to support approximately 25% of the student body out of over 30,000 undergraduates.-Advised students on a weekly basis to assist them in overcoming personal, academic, social, and/or emotional challenges.-Developed a new student leadership model to optimize and expand our services, which led to a growth from 15 to 30 student staff supervised.-Promoted programming through our Mailchimp newsletter, social media networks, and graphic design.

-Marketed to third parties interested in college access and success to inform them about Income Shared Agreements (ISAs). -Participated in multiple interviews with various news outlets to discuss the benefits of an ISA in relation to traditional loan models.-Engaged with various stakeholders interested in ISAs and in higher education equity and access through pro bono consulting services.

-Brought a holistic perspective on the experiences and needs of student of color to high-level campus conversations; this included ensuring policies and practices were accountable to students' intersectional identities related to gender, sexual orientation, immigrant backgrounds and other identities.-Promoted active support of research, teaching, and community engagement that advanced intellectual interests and growth of students of color.-Ensured there was a collective voice on policy related to students of color.-Supported, advocated for, and defended cultural, cross-cultural and leadership development programming for students of color.-Provided ongoing consultation to the campus administration to address climate issues on and off campus that pertained to racial/ethnic dynamics and cross-cultural understanding.

-Navigated an intense graduate school academic preparation boot camp after being selected as 1 of 31 interns out of over 300 applicants.-Spent approximately 9 hours a day, 6 days a week with interns and faculty in reading-intensive seminar discussions, activities, and writing workshops.-Debated theory and cultural criticism in education, the humanities, and social sciences designed to expose interns to rigor encountered in graduate education.

-Served as the primary liaison between the bridges Multicultural Resource Board of Directors and the University as well as the official representative to students, the community and media.-Collaborated with University officials to assess the impact of admissions policies, funding and yield activities to our work.-Strengthened strategic partnerships with on campus units such as: the Centers for Educational Justice and Community Engagement (EJCE), the Vice Chancellor for Equity & Inclusion, Office of Undergraduate Admissions, and the LEAD Center.-Developed connections with alumni and set the foundations for the bridges staff alumni network. -Liaised between the seven bridges recruitment and retention centers and student-initiated outreach and retention organizations at other UC campuses.-Coordinated the internal affairs of the organization, such as the professional development of the bridges Directors which included: bridges staff retreats, staff meetings, and our fellowship program.-Served as the bridges representative on the Admissions, Enrollment, and, and Preparatory Education (AEPE) Committee.-Facilitated regular Executive Committee meetings with other recruitment and retention center (rrc) counterparts.-Represented the organization on the Chancellor’s Advisory Council on Students of Color and Multicultural Engagement.-Facilitated the bridges fellowship program, developed a course curriculum for our weekly seminar and oversaw the development of bridges Executive fellows.-Co-authored a $12,000 Student Technology Fund grant for technology infrastructure development to revamp our data collection capabilities.

-Shadowed the Center's Executive Director during programming and meetings.-Assisted in program planning and execution of Senior Weekend, the largest yield program on Berkeley's campus that brings 300-500 underrepresented and underprivileged students to school to encourage them to enroll.

-Researched higher education access and issues impeding access to the technology sector for Latinos/as by conducting archival research, database analyses, and data compilation.-Researched both university and community projects to inform local, state, and national policies that affect Latinos/as.-Coordinated programs, such as the Bay Area Latino Higher Education Conference and Diversity in Technology Conference with Dr. Patricia Baquedano-Lopez, the Center's director, and doctoral fellows.-Contributed to 2 of the Center’ policy briefs that sought to bring attention to the educational attainment crisis Latino males face and the lack of representation of Latinos/as in the tech sector.-Planned programs and the execution of CLPR events, such as speaker series and outreach.

-Facilitated presentations, workshops, and committee meetings to inform students about issues affecting students of color in higher education. -Researched and maintained accurate knowledge on national, state, and ASUC politics and legislation. -Coordinated the following programs: La Lucha Sigue Scholarship Dinner, the Raza Organizations/Space retreat, and Campus Worker Appreciation Day. -Administered the Raza Recruitment & Retention Center’s scholarship for undocumented students.-Facilitated collaborative efforts and encouraged cross-cultural engagement by mobilizing students of color to address higher education issues.
