I studied biology and veterinary medicine and graduated in Virology at the University of Giessen. I received training in cytokine research at the Institute for Medical Microbiology and Hygiene at the University of Freiburg. As a research fellow at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, CA, I conducted research in the field of avian immunology. In 1998 I continued my research activities as senior scientist at the Dept. of Internal Medicine/Molecular Biology at the University of Freiburg were I was awarded with the venia legendi in “Experimental Medicine” in 2002. I joined CellGenix in 2006, where I have been responsible for several projects in R&D
