• Consultant for the project “Building capacity to assess national sustainable development and SDG strategies by modelling tools”• Development of a water model for Nicaragua, using the Water Evaluation and Planning System (WEAP) and GIS tools. The model was integrated with previously developed energy and land use models, and considered different scenarios including climate change projections, and land use constraints. • The integrated assessment allowed the analysis of current and future demands for energy and water, under different climate futures and development pathways. • Provided a WEAP workshop in Nicaragua, to a group of professionals from Nicaraguan government institutions.

• CLEWs (Sustainable Climate, Land-use, Energy and Water strategies) assessment for Nicaragua, focusing on the modeling of the electricity system, energy/water nexus and climate change scenarios.• Use of software and tools such as the Water Evaluation and Planning System (WEAP), Open Source Energy Modelling System (OSEMOSYS) and Global Agro-Ecological Zoning (GAEZ).• The project aims to present valuable insights regarding the synergies and trades-offs between resource sectors under the loop of climate change, and provide practical information that will help policy makers have a cross-sectorial approach for the country’s development strategies.
