Battery Pack Lead for team of six, working to improve the design and efficiency of the current Li-ion battery pack and begin design of a new battery pack.• Applied SolidWorks Flow Simulations to determine optimal operating conditions and fan configuration to reduce overall heat loss. Profiled various Li-ion batteries to maximize energy storage to weight ratios.• Assisted in manufacturing of the car’s carbon fiber composite aeroshell. Demonstrated proficiency in power tools such as bandsaw, drill press, Dremel, and power saw.

Entering this internship this summer, my goals were to gain engineering experience in a professional environment and gain a deeper perspective of the Deere workplace. Specifically to my internship position as a PV&V lab test intern, my goals were to gain both technical and practical knowledge as well as assist my team through day-to-day operations and intern projects. As the summer comes to an end, I can confidently state that all my goals and expectations have been met in every capacity. Throughout the internship I have gained confidence in working in a professional environment, executing my day-to-day operations through my completion of vision activities, and delivering on my group and personal intern projects, such as improving bump track tie downs and developing a Battery charging station for PVV. Through overcoming obstacles in my vision activities I have improved on my ability to adapt and innovate upon older ideas and brainstorm with my colleagues around me to create new opportunities to solve problems and complete provided objectives. On top of all the technical aspects, I have been able to participate in multiple Employee Resource Group events and volunteering events such as the Phinizy Swamp BERG Volunteer Event and BERG Summer Intern Cookout. I also got the opportunity to be a part of the John Deere Intern Conference which gave me the chance to network and make connections with a diverse set of employees and interns.
