I am a software engineer who heads up a small team writing software for high-tech scientific instruments at Kratos Analytical. We are a subsidiary of Shimadzu and our team works mainly with their MALDI-TOF mass spectrometers. I have experience of, and enjoy, working at the intersection of multiple disciplines including biochemistry, software/electronic/mechanical engineering and physics. I thrive in an environment where I am not only writing code but collaborating with other engineers and scientists.Technology-wise my software experience is mainly with C#/.NET, but I also use Python for fast prototyping of features. I am conversant in C++ and C for the purposes of interfacing with hardware/instrument control or implementing data analysis algorithms. However, I try to remain technology/language agnostic where possible, and operate in multiple paradigms (e.g. OOP vs functional) depending on the need.
