Leading role in designing, deploying, and monitoring a worldwide homogeneous GNSS network used by autonomous systems, with a positioning accuracy of 10 cm to 1 cm. This high-precision platform positioning is essential for systems to achieve level 3, 4, or 5 autonomy in situational ambiguity areas (unpaved roads, adverse weather, no roads, parking lots, road construction, unstripped roadways, and yards). Technologies such as LiDAR, radar, and image processing can not meet these higher autonomy levels; they must be combined with high-precision GNSS.

RTK GNSS Network Consultant for the Americas (Sep 2011 - Present)

An original owner involved with RTK Bridge/Base/Rover product development with numerous local and overseas OEM partners.

● GNSS Sales and technical support services in Florida while utilizing information technology skills for operations, including upgrading and maintaining complex RTK network servers and installing and maintaining RTK GNSS base stations. ● Engineered translators needed for AutoFarm and John Deere agricultural systems, adding 10,000 potential subscribers for managed-network services. ● Expanded the agricultural client base by collaborating with Intuicom and later creating Champion Instruments to create an electronic bridge (Cellular to UHF / RS-232) for RTK GNSS positioning. ● An original founding owner for Champion Instruments, launched to produce Internet-enabled GNSS devices for networks similar to eGPS. ● Redesigned the entire Internet RTK GNSS Network to support massively parallel processing servers, delivering the ability to support an unlimited network size and reliability through redundancy. ● Conducted numerous GPS/GNSS seminars to educate industry professionals and potential clients.

Led a group of engineers, surveyors, and programmers in developing and supporting software for the SMI Mobile Products group. Interfaced with large SMI clients, including ENR500 and state Departments of Transportation, to gather product requirements. Designed the primary software interface, an innovative "Zoomable User Interface" (ZUI), and personally wrote complex algorithms. Partnered with OEM suppliers to create a whole product solution for field-based mobile surveyors. ● Developed ten innovative product features identified for patent applications. ● Expanded the scope of consulting services to include RTK GPS base stations by NavCom Technologies and RTK GPS Networks using Geo++, leading to the development of 3 of the continent's largest internet-based RTK GPS Networks. ● Spearheaded the design and construction as Technical Lead of a million-dollar internet and UHF-based RTK GPS Network and Road Inventory system for the Navajo DOT and presented the project white paper at the 2007 conference of the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping.

Headed the product and software design activities for an entire product line, from gathering requirements to developing a product roadmap, GUI design, relational database design, and standards research. Advised clients on the government's responsibility to manage capital assets and emerging technologies for GIS, GPS, and wireless field data. ● Coordinated with System Architects to create an easy-to-use scriptable GUI that would facilitate customization for individual clients and accelerate the release of new applications as asset-specific features ● Pioneered the development of a foundational GUI and relational DB structure that is still in use 20 years later. ● Generated new and grew ongoing B2B relationships.

● Produced complete plan sets for site developments, roadway designs, corridor studies, environmental assessments, sewer systems, and roadway drainage systems utilizing AutoCAD, MicroStation, and numerous 3rd party applications. ● Conducted survey operations (conventional and GPS) for four months while searching for a full-time land surveyor, including construction staking, topographic surveys, and ground control for photogrammetry. ● Created customized in-house programs for automation of plan set production using LISP, Basic, and ANSI C. This new automation decreased the time for plotting from two weeks to only hours. ● Trained new hires on CAD platforms and taught night classes at DMACC.
