Phd ResearcherTechnical University Of Denmark 2008 - 2011Ph.D Thesis : Strategy for corrosion protection of electronic devices• Process related contaminants like flux residues were studied in detail using Ion Chromatography, optical microscope along with various heat treatments.• Conformal coatings, being one of the corrosion prevention strategies, influence of no-clean flux residue on acrylic conformal coating at substrate and PCBA level under various application environments and resulting corrosion mechanisms under the coating were studied.• Study on the influence of the no-clean flux residue on the performance of silicone conformal coatings on test PCBA under humid and condensing environment was carried out.• Galvanic series of different PCBA metals and alloys and their electrochemical polarization behavior in two different contaminant environments was developed, which is useful and direct tool for industries to understand corrosion behavior of PCBA materials. • Based on the galvanic series and PCBA design, a prevention strategy for corrosion in electronics has been developed. -
