Role: Develop machine learning-based algorithms for automatic scoring of sleep recordings and brain activity signals. These can aid physicians in detecting sleep events and seizures.Tasks: Signal processing of sleep recording signals, implementation and optimization of machine learning models for detection of sleep events, academic research.Accomplishments: I have helped achieve CE marking for one of our sleep scoring algorithms. I have also used BioSerenity’s dataset to publish two papers on sleep disorders.Software: Python (Pytorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, SciPy, Pandas, Statsmodels, pyEDFlib, PyMongo, boto3).

Role: Investigate the potential of computer vision for screening and characterization of obstructive sleep apnea. Half of the project period was spent at Stanford University.Tasks: Research, publishing papers, presenting at international conferences, teaching, and taking courses in data science, deep learning, and convex optimization.Accomplishments: I developed 1) a screening system for sleep apnea using deep learning on 3D craniofacial scans, and 2) a scoring system for sleep endoscopy videos using deep learning. I published 4 papers as first author and co-authored 4 papers.Software: Python (Pytorch, SciPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, OpenCV).
