Mmekidmfon Umanah is a Business Executive with over 7 years Management and Leadership experience working in Health, FMCG, Tech and Nonprofit sectors. He leads Aimcare Health, a healthtech startup interested in disrupting the West African Pharma sector through efficient distribution, inventory financing and management. Aimcare has recently been named as one of the top 29 Healthcare innovators in Africa by the Bill and Melinda Gates, Microsoft, MSD, Cencora and Chemonics, receiving a grant support.His PhD research was designed to understand how social ventures can leverage digital technology to balance competing commercial and social goals, in order to make a difference in society. He holds an MSc with Distinction in International Development from the School of Government, University of Birmingham, where he attended via the prestigious Chevening Scholarship. Mmekidmfon is the 2023 winner of the Future Awards Prize for Health and Wellness. The Future Africa Awards has been described by the World Bank as “the Nobel Prize for young Africans” and by Forbes as the “most important youth awards”.He is a Fellow of many reputable programs including the US government's Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), Youth Action Net ( International Youth Foundation), LEAP Africa Social Innovators Program & OSIEA Young Leaders Forum. He is also a Global Shaper with the World Economic Forum.His work has been featured by major media brands around Nigeria and Africa including the Sun, Vanguard, Guardian, This Day, YNaija, Bella Naija, Premium times, Phenomenal African Women Magazine etc. and was showcased at the 2017 Global South South Expo in Turkey. He is also the Convener of the Emerging Leaders Summit. A TEDx inspired event on Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Governance. The Emerging Leaders Summit is one of the most attended Leadership events in South South Nigeria.
