Mr. Saidu obtained his BS in Biochemistry (First-class Honors) from Usmanu Danfodiyo University in Sokoto, Nigeria where he conducted a novel research under the guidance of Professor Abdullahi Yahaya Abbas. His research focused on the chemical modification of ascorbic acid to L-ascorbyl-6-palmitate to enhance antioxidant therapy in Traumatic brain injury. The findings has been published in the scopus-indexed Journal of Experimental and Clinical Medicine.He is interested in Cancer biology and Neurodegenerative diseases. Particularly in the areas of DNA damage response, DNA repair, and Genome integrity, as well as epigenomics, transcriptomics, and CRISPR technology. He is also deeply fascinated with genomics, bioinformatics, computational biology, machine learning, and precision medicine. He is interested in understanding how these complex pathways become dysregulated in cancer and neurodegenerative diseases. By acquiring a comprehensive understanding of these mechanisms, Mr. Saidu hopes to aid in the creation of novel therapeutic strategies that can improve treatment at the molecular level.Apart from his academic excellence, Mr. Saidu possesses exceptional teamwork abilities, allowing him to collaborate effectively with his peers and colleagues. Further, he exhibits outstanding interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in English, enabling him to convey complex scientific concepts with clarity and precision.In terms of his technical expertise, Mr. Saidu has acquired proficiency in various laboratory techniques such as tissue culture, PCR, RT-PCR, ELISA, and Western blotting. Additionally, he possesses skills in bioinformatics, computational genomics, Linux command-line, Bash scripting, R/Rstudio, Python, GraphPad Prism, and Microsoft Office. These skills further enhance his ability to conduct comprehensive scientific investigations and analyze complex data sets.Mr. Saidu is enthusiastic about higher education and research. He aims to obtain a Ph.D. in Genomics and Computational Biology and lead a team of computational biologists in a pharmaceutical company. His goal is to dissect the biology of immune cells in human tumors for innovative cancer treatments and advancements in research.
