(1) Acquisition of real time information from all concerned agencies, Provincial Crisis Management Cells and ensure its timely processing to the decision makers of country at the highest level. (2) To identify key national issues impinging on internal security, gather detailed information on them, carryout a systematic analysis and recommend response options to the decision-makers. (3) Respond to all crisis situations through direction, coordination and resource management. (4) Be able to manage the crisis and do damage control once the crisis has occurred.

One such attack was repulsed back on 15 December 2004 which was exponentially appreciated by UNHQ
