Umar Hayat graduated from DePaul University with a concentration in Finance. He chose finance to expand his interest in capital markets and gaining exposure to financial instruments. Throughout his academia, Hayat enrolled in various courses that aligned with his passions such as Portfolio Management, Investment Banking, and Quantitative Analysis. Hayat's career opportunities complemented well with his studies. He gained exposure to equities and wealth management through ING financial. Later, attained an internship in fixed income at Neuberger Berman, where he was involved in portfolio positioning, currency and duration strategies. It came full circle at Ellwood associates where Hayat was in charge of performance for traditional and alternative assets. Among other duties, quarterly, Hayat managed research and commentary. Hayat is currently an analyst at Invesco working with Global Bank Loans.In his spare time, he trains in jiujitsu, develops woman jiujitsu competitors, and is actively studying for his CFA.
