Umar Maqbool is currently a joint PhD scholar at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and Monash University Australia. His research focuses on the assessment of hydrogen generation technologies in India and their implications for energy transition.Before pursuing his PhD, he worked with the Ministry of Power (CERC) as a consultant, specialized in electricity tariffs. Additionally, he has experience at the Center for Energy Regulations Lab and Energy Analytics Lab at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, working on market-based energy dispatch, tariff analysis, and regulatory analysis for CERC, MoP, and SERC.Umar Maqbool holds a BTech in Electrical and Renewable Energy Engineering and an MTech in Renewable Energy Engineering.
