With about 15 years of diverse experience spanning the ICT ecosystem, my professional experience spans the mobile communications industry, ICT service providers as well as the Space technology sector. I am currently the Special Assistant - Technical (SA-Technical) to the EVC/CEO of the Nigerian Telecoms Regulator, Nigerian Communications Commission. I was also in the Academia for a few years (2019 - 2023) as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (on Part-time) at a Private University in Nigeria, Baze University, Abuja, leading the Telecoms Research Group, mentoring and supervising postgraduate and undergraduate students. I hold a PhD in Communication and Information Systems, MSc in Mobile and Satellite Communications and Bachelor degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. I am currently the National Chairman, Nigerian Institution of Space Engineers, driving innovation and professional development in the space sector. Also a member of various professional bodies, NGOs and voluntary groups focused on Digital development, Tech and Youth enagagement in Government. I have served as expert reviewer/contributor in developing policies/frameworks for digital strategy with relevant public organizations and the private sector. Through specialized international trainings and professional enagments, I have gained expertise in Leveraging ICT tools for Sustainable Development (ICT4D)," spectrum management, and telecom regulation. I also serve as a reviewer for a number of journals/conferences such as KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Systems, Journal for Communications (JCM) as well as some grant awarding institutions such as TetFund, where I was recently awarded an award of commendation for stellar performance as reviewer for TetFund workshop on “Grant winning proposals for institutions in North-Eastern Nigeria”. I have published and presented many research works in reputable journals and conferences. My current research interests are on the intercession of emerging wireless systems (such as 5G and beyond, self-organizing networks, with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and satellite networks, to break the limitations of terrestrial systems in reaching unserved/underserved areas and investigate their potentials to disrupt vertical industries (energy, healthcare, smart cities, transportation etc.), especially in emerging economies.
