Michael Kors provides 2nd Line support to staff in the London office and across Europe. In this fast-paced environment, dealing with tickets and upgrading laptops is a frequent task. Using ServiceNow as our ticketing system, we need to be on top of grabbing and dealing with issues that come from VIPs and users across Europe.Since being recruited, all old laptops need to be upgraded, data transferred, and software installed ready to give back to the user. I have been dealing with this project myself by creating spreadsheets and organising time/dates for the handovers.Using Active Directory on a daily basis to create computer accounts and ensuring new laptops have been assigned.

This role consisted of both Windows 10 Deployment and assisting users with technical support. I was in the position to visit all the CNWL sites and deploy Win10 on all desktops/laptops. As I was at sites on my own, I had the task to complete as many desktops/laptops possible. Having to regularly liaise with the NHS business Application Support Team to make sure specific applications work within the Windows 10 environment and to carry out testing and recommend any changes to the Windows 10 build if required. My role also involves providing daily reports and updates to senior management together with conference/video calls via Zoom/Microsoft Teams. I also had the opportunity to assist the Service Desk with any outstanding tickets which I accomplished to maintain an accurate record. I’ve also had to support users that were using MAC OSX on a number of MacBook’s. I performed system administration duties using Active Directory which involved tasks such as creating user accounts, reset passwords, create groups and giving permissions.

Based at the News UK site in London Bridge, my main responsibility was to assist and deploy 1000+ users from Windows 7 to 10. I was given the responsibility to cover 2 floors (HarperCollins) and making sure all users were upgraded to Windows 10 also to support and assist any issues that may occur. The mornings usually consisted of making sure desktops & laptops were built to Windows 10 ready to deploy and the second half of the day was supporting users for any applications that needed to be installed.

Based on site at the BBC Media Village in White City, my position entailed upgrading users from Windows 7 – 10. The role was split into 2 roles; during the day we would prep the machines (laptops/desktops) with the windows 10 image using PXE boot and then logging in as admin to install any missing apps via SCCM. Prior to imaging, I would visit the users in helping to migrate their data. Once this was done, we would hand back the devices and carry out a floor walk for any issues arising from the migration. Some of the issues were to setup and configure Office 365 and any missing apps/data.
