My role at Cogmation requires vision, attention to detail, passion for programming, and an analytical approach to any project in order to deliver quality products.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:-Writing, modifying, integrating and testing software code.-Building sophisticated simulation apps for mobile devices such as iPhones, iPads, Androids & tablets, in addition to software that runs on Windows and Mac operating systems.-Designing and implementing east-to-use user interfaces for the software that provide great user experiences.-Gathering required software functionality, planning development phases and setting deadlines.-Performing feasibility and cost-benefit analysis with other developers to decide the underlying software architecture and framework.-Maintaining existing software by adding new features, increasing overall performance and efficiency, and releasing software updates.-Identifying and communicating technical problems and solutions, fixing software bugs as reported by pre-release Alpha and Beta testers.-Mentoring new employees, helping to assimilate them to the team and required software development duties, plus co-ordinating with other developers.

I designed a dog tail interface for allowing utility robots to communicate their states (e.g., happy, sad) in a way that people can readily understand them. This interface was evaluated by conducting a formal investigation with 20 participants and statistically analyzing the quantitative data obtained. The results from this investigation helped us in developing design guidelines that can be leveraged by human-robot interaction designers to convey the affective states of their robots.I along with my colleagues at the Human-Robot Interaction lab sketched, designed and implemented a touchscreen interface to remotely control a multiple degree-of-freedom robotic arm. We evaluated our interface by comparing it to the existing industrial keypad interface and conducting a formal user study with 20 participants. The results from this study indicated that our touchscreen interface was easier to use, required less cognitive task load, and enabled people to complete tasks more quickly.
