Stephen Leeds is the Founder and Chief Creative Officer at Umbrella Street Media. He's been honored by the New York Film Society's New Films / New Directors series at MOMA. He has earned a prestigious Pollie Award for his advertising work and several Best Picture awards for his work in film. Stephen has created over a hundred television ad campaigns and is also a writer, director and producer on feature motion-picture and television works for various Hollywood studios. He recently created and wrote the pilot for a scripted series about the life of famed author Ernest Hemingway. Series to be directed by legendary Academy Award winning director Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump, Castaway, Back To The Future), and produced by seven time Best Picture Oscar winning producer, Mike Medavoy. Past works from Stephen include scripts for Warner Brothers, Sony Pictures, Disney, Fox, New Regency, Alcon Entertainment, Phoenix Pictures, Image Movers and others.Stephen has created, produced, and directed national TV ad campaigns for Overstock.com, Ask.com, Six Flags, 1800Flowers, Turtle Wax, About.com, Shakey's Pizza and many others. In 2009 he created the first ever national TV ad campaign for an iPhone app, Dictionary.com for IAC.In addition to client work, Stephen has created branded shorts for College Humor and directed a feature motion picture comedy. Expanding into new media, Stephen and Umbrella Street recently produced the popular sci-fi meta comedy series, Ginormo, for streaming. Featured on Good Morning America, the irreverent kids show and related content garnered over 50 million views in its initial week of release. As the first of its kind, the "disrupter series" stars eight social media creators with a combined 1.5 billion monthly views. Stephen has a B.A. in Writing & Lit from U.C.L.A. and an M.F.A. in film from Columbia University, where his short "Get That Number" won Best Picture at the Columbia University / New Line Cinema Festival of New Works. Spin Magazine called it "an urban opus" and esteemed director Milos Foreman wrote that it was "truly a wonderful film." It won Best Picture at six international film festivals and was awarded Filmmaker Magazine's Audience Choice Award. Sundance Mentor and NYU Tisch School of Dramatic Writing founder Dan Kleinman placed "Get That Number" on his list of the 10 best shorts of all time.
