I am currently in process of completing my undergraduate degree for Commerce, specialization – Accounting, at York University. I plan to have it finished by mid-summer and then pursue CPA certification. Currently, I am a front-of-house employee at De La Mer, where I am often responsible for managing the store, making sales, communicating with customers, and training new employees. I am also responsible for managing inventory and performing weekly inventory checks where I determine how much more or less of the products the store needs. Also, I manage daily costing where I calculate current earnings and compare and analyze them with daily trends for the month to evaluate performance. This has also given me experience in using cost management software and excel at a professional level.My experience at De La Mer and my past experiences at the CNE and Pizza Pizza, have allowed me to hone my teamwork and communication skills. I have great experience in managing groups of people, working alongside them, and directing each other towards our shared goal. This was demonstrated in managing ourselves during peak hours when we needed to conduct all our tasks such as restocking, keeping records up to date, cleaning the work area, while also making sales and answering customer inquiries. This all had to happen seamlessly, which was only possible from great communication and receptive listening.During Highschool I co-oped at Ryerson University’s architecture department where I learned valuable coding skills in HTML and Python language as well as software skills in 3d modeling programs such as Rhino, AutoCAD and Photoshop. Like my other jobs, I often had to learn these programs immediately and learn more as I moved forward with tasks provided. This was the same in my other jobs as well. These experiences have allowed me to become an incredibly quick learner, who is able to understand and internalize important information quickly and effectively. It has also taught me how to work under pressure and meet deadlines
