I am a graduate from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. During my past four years at the university I have taken courses such as Mechanical Systems Modeling and Mechatronics, allowing me to master the fundamentals of control systems and how they operate. I have enhanced my knowledge of structural analysis, honing my understanding of the forces, deflections, and stresses involved within rigid and rotating structures by excelling in Strength of Materials, Dynamics and Machine Design. In addition, throughout the course of my college career I attained extensive exposure to CAD and Finite Element Analysis software programs such as AutoDesk Inventor 2013 and Abaqus/CAE, respectively. Lastly, I became experienced with Microsoft Office software, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel with VBA Programming, and Microsoft PowerPoint. Outside of the class environment, I participated in extracurricular activities and organizations including the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and Pi Tau Sigma – an international honor society for mechanical engineers. The design competitions associated with the ASME provided me with further hands-on experience with both mechanical and electrical systems including circuit boards, DC brush motors, stepper motors, and RC servomotors. And more recently, participating in service projects for Pi Tau Sigma enhanced my sense of collaboration among my peers and has driven me to continue to take on challenges for the betterment of others.
