District Panchayat of Malappuram has presented a novel project for the school students - 100k Malappuram Coders. The programme aims at revitalizing the worldview and career thinking of teenagers in the age of artificial intelligence.We are on the cusp of the fourth industrial revolution, every nook and corner is getting digitalized, and the skills we possess are outdated. Our schools as awareness platforms fail to cope with the rapid technological advancement. District Panchayat wants to ensure that students shouldn’t be left behind because of lack of exposure. This initiative aims to impart awareness on forty exponential technologies that bring a paradigm shift in the way we experience the world around us. 100k Malappuram coders, a three-month program, will cover 12 different themes in 12 weeks ranging from food to space exploration. As the name suggests, “coding” is also a central theme among the twelve. One lakh students of the Malappuram district from grades 6 to 12 will benefit from this initiative. Short courses on tech innovations like artificial intelligence, blockchain, 3D printing, virtual reality, etc., are the few among the forty programs covered.
