This role provided me with the opportunity to define and execute the product strategy and roadmap across the funnel with a particular goal and focus on product-led growth. Leading a cross-functional squad we were able to provide major uplift across a range of metrics and key OKRs including sustained 50% WOW growth in customer acquisition and activation.

Freelancer.com is the world’s largest freelancing, outsourcing, and crowdsourcing marketplace. In this role, I had the opportunity to lead engineering teams across multiple product functions. The core focus of my role was executing the product development and roadmap of Freelancer.com's core recommendation engine, marketplace, and acquisitions team.During my time in this role, we achieved many business and technical goals, such as growing the user base from 33 million to 40 million. Other highlights include successfully migrating a legacy front-end system into Angular 8 and Typescript, iterating and launching several successful A/B tests of the homepage, and deploying various experiments on the recommendation engine to drive freelancer’s engagement and bidding.

In this role, I was responsible for defining the technical direction of the team responsible for Freelancer's in-house mass email infrastructure. On average we supported sending about 17 million emails per day. This role gave me the opportunity to further develop my Infrastructure/DevOps skills and was also my first opportunity to manage a remote team of engineers.

In this role, I managed and supervised the various online payment systems that support the core freelancing marketplace. During this time I oversaw the growth of gross deposit volume with a system now supporting over 50 million users and processing over $100m in global payment volume annually.The Freelancer payments system hides the complexity of various payment providers from the internal engineering teams and consolidates them into one interface. It supported various payments providers such as World Pay, Global Collect, PayPal, Adyen, Paytm, Hyperwallet, Skrill, and NAB.My duties also included: - Designing, implementing, and iterating various A/B tests to optimize the checkout experience and payment authorization.- Design, certification & maintenance of the PCI cardholder system.- The adoption and definition of Freelancer's anti-fraud, PCI, KYC, and AML processes and requirements.
