AAP is a volunteer-powered after-school intervention program focused on Grade 6 - 8 Math and English in low-performing schools in Pakistan. AAP uses a "micro-volunteerism" model to implement a series of two-month modules with a specific curriculum and learning outcomes. Assessments are conducted at the start and end of every module. AAP addresses the shortage of quality teachers in low income communities in a disruptive manner. Magically creating thousands of great teacher to go serve in these schools is not feasible. However, getting thousands of high school/college students and young professionals to volunteer a few hours a week in after-school Math and English tutoring IS feasible. WIth this approach, AAP aims to achieve measurable improvement in numerical and linguistic literacy.
