As a part of EC MSCA Cell2Cell-ITN, I have done my secondment in OBD.• Probing the chromatin architecture in U87MG cells to observe the effect of IDH1*R132H by using EpiSwitch ArrayCGH technology on machine-learning selected targets that cover whole genome.

Tutor and/or demonstrator:• Delivering lecture and practical sessions on decision tree-based algorithms and their use in classification of variants in diagnostics for groups of up to 25 medical students as well as up to 15 graduate students• Demonstrating computational biology and bioinformatics-related tutorials in international workshops• Examiner/observer in various undergraduate courses

As a part of my Master's research, in Prof Ugur Sezerman's Group, Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, Acibadem University, I have worked on the projects below:• Building machine-learning models to predict the impact of mutations by using sequence, protein structure and protein dynamics-based features in a comparative way (MSc thesis study) • Investigated mechanisms of six different rare diseases (i.e., phenylketonuria, periventricular nodular heterotopia, non-obstructive azoospermia, acrodysostosis, infantile parkinsonism-dystonia and alternating hemiplegia of childhood) by modelling the proteins with and without the variants, which are detected by colleagues to diagnose the suffering patients forwarded by collaborators• Contributed to three biotechnology-related studies: worked on structure of two novel fluorescent proteins biosensing pollutants, and dynamics of an engineered industrial endoglucanaseAs a part of my summer & winter internship during the 2017-2018 terms:• Using decision tree-based methods to build a meta-predictor for variant impact prediction in cancers, and applying molecular dynamics-based methods where the meta-predictor fails (BSc internship)

As a part of my Bachelor's thesis study, in Prof. Gizem Dinler Doganay's Lab at Dr. Orhan Öcalgiray Molecular Biology-Biotechnology and Genetics Research Centre in Istanbul Technical University (ITU-MOBGAM), I have worked on:• “Detection of the interaction surface of BAG-1S with RAD23B” via molecular dynamics simulations to understand the dynamics of this interaction which is important in breast cancer• Characterisation of BAG1 in MCF-7 and MCF-12A breast cancer and healthy breast cell lines
