Working since 2007 at the R&D Department of Alfa Group, an industrial corporation with great tradition in the Basque Country´s industry and highly specialized in metal manufacturing technologies: Metal Injection Moulding (MIM), Investment Casting, Cold Forging, Machining, ...The R&D department carries out some activities:- Failure analysis and homologation of different parts with the help of the lab equipments: complete metallography lab, DSC, dilatometer, viscosimeter, heat treatment lab furnaces, salt-spray machine, friction machine, etc.- Development of R&D projects with the aim of the process improvement, study of new materials, new opportunities, ...Personally, I´ve been involved in projects about:- Light materials (magnesium and titanium) for the investment casting process for the automotive and aeronautic industries.- Study and development of ceramic cores for investment casting.- Development of actuator components in MIM for the aerospace industry.- Development of a new ceramic material for PIM.- Development of a predictive system to avoid cracks of the toolings in cold forging.- Influence of different parameters on the global friction coefficient of cold forged threaded parts.- Development of a new Stirling engine design.- Others.Since 2015 I´ve been more focused on the Metal Injection Moulding (MIM) process, being involved in the R&D activity and process improvement at MIM TECH ALFA, leading the R&D Department since the end of 2018.
