About Unda Roux
Gaining understanding for the customer, being able to put myself in other's shoes and formulating un-intimidating solutions is a challenge I truly enjoy. My past experiences read like a chameleon on a packet of smarties, but here goes...In recent years I worked in the publishing industry, specialising in helping authors self-publish to Amazon in both Kindle and paperback formats. This is where I realised I love woking with customers and enjoy helping people. Be that as it may, I also worked as a graphic designer and typesetter. The typesetting I found particularly satisfying to my A-type personality.Prior to this, I had my own little bakery for a while where I baked speciality cakes and iced cookies. It was a fun but hard season, I learnt many, MANY business lessons during this endeavour, but I remember it fondly. Fresh-faced, new to the work-force me, started off as a photographer on cruise ships. This was such an impactful experience and I carry the life lessons with me to this day. Working long days, living in close quarters and being but one of an enormous international crew with varying levels of English proficiency - I had to learn to communicate effectively. Guests on these cruise liners were also from all corners of the world. When your job 100% involves understanding and being understood, fast, you pick up life-skills like it's going out of fashion. You learn to listen, carefully. You learn to speak carefully and clearly. Speedy conflict resolution comes in more handy than a lifeboat when you are floating in a confined tin can on the ocean ;)
