From 2009 - 2015 Army representative on Rugby Football Union Council as Council Member and from 2005 - 2013 Chairman of Discipline & Governance for ARU. Also during the same period: Member of the ARU Management Board and ARU Council. Trustee of the ARU.

Executive senior manager for all Army logistic, infrastructure and equipment functions covering firm base activities across the 10 regional brigades and LONDIST across the UK/NIResponsibilities:• Principal member and advisor to the GOCs Command Group on Combat Service Support (CSS) (Logistic Support, Equipment Support (through Colonel ES), Safety Health & Environmental/Force Protection(SHE/FP),Facilities Management (FM) and Infrastructure matters • Control and coordination of CSS, SHE/FP and FM/Infrastructure staff branches within HQ Sp Comd (50 military/civilian personnel) • HQ Sp Comd lead for all basing propositions resulting from A2020 and Future Reserves 2020 planning. Represent the GOC on the Army Infrastructure Programme Board, BORONA Project Board, Army Basing Steering Group and the Army Reserve Estate Partnering Board • Implement policy and provide the required level of assurance to the GOC, Army HQ, DIO & the chain of command with respect to all aspects of logistic support, equipment support, infrastructure (including Sustainable Development), and SHE/FP• Provide functional CSS advice, FM and infrastructure direction to the 10 regional brigades and units within Sp Comd and those organisations/units for whom the HQ provides their firm base support – Joint Helicopter Command, Army Recruiting & Training Division, UK Security Forces, Theatre Troops & overseas commands of Nepal and Brunei• Provide Head of Arm/cap badge advice as required on MS and Corps matters where applicable across the UK

Responsibilities:• Responsible for the direction, technical proficiency and execution of all logistic support and infrastructure (Hard & Soft Facilities Management) across 3 Regional Brigades covering the South East, South West of England (the largest footprint in the UK) and the overseas military stations of Nepal and Brunei • Led a team of 25 military, civilian and contractor’s staff• Resource manager for the Soft Facilities Management budget, whilst preparing for in year transfer to the Defence Infrastructure Organisation• Developed, prioritised and managed plans for the delivery of infrastructure programmes throughout the area of responsibility• Designated Officer for contract governance across 6 multi activity contracts dealing with 3 civilian service providers and the HQ point of contact for the PFI infrastructure programme in the South West of England • Delivered Safety, Health and Environment assurance and advice in according with current and emerging policies• Royal Logistic Corps (RLC) Head of Service for all RLC soldiers, representing Director The Royal Logistic Corps across a disparate and widespread range of units, detachments and singleton posts acting as a conduit for all RLC matters

As Assistant Head of the MODs Operational Energy Management Programme was responsible for formulating a programme which will deliver a coherent, de-conflicted and prioritised direction to ensure the availability of an assured energy supply in order to maintain or enhance military capability in perpetuity.Responsibilities:• Ran the MODs 4* endorsed Operational Energy Management Programme (OEMP)• Managed MOD stakeholders through internal and external engagement whilst exercising governance through the programmed working groups to the 3* led Sustainable Procurement Programme Board

Responsibilities:• Commanded the Royal Logistic Corps Territorial Army (RLC TA), with direct command of a large headquarters and 2 regular regiments. Functional command of the Operational Headquarters Support Group and 15 other TA regiments and other groupings totalling 6600 regular and territorial soldiers and officers • Assumed additional role of Colonel National TA for the 3* Commander Regional Forces, providing effective command and control to 12 other cap-badges and groupings, reporting to Commander Recruiting Group for recruiting and retention issues for the National TA within One Army Recruiting• Commanded Grantham Station

Responsibilities:• Focal point for the policy and provision of logistic support (which included for a 2 year period commercially delivered infrastructure support) whilst being responsible for the direction, technical proficiency and execution of all logistic support across London for 12500 regular, TA soldiers and cadets• Resource manager for the logistic support budget of approx £27m per year and led a military and civilian team of 40 desk officers who managed the logistic support functions• Royal Logistic Corps Head of Service for 200 RLC soldiers and commanding officer for 20 Transport Squadron• Led on the logistic support element of support to UK operations in the Capital; contingency planning for Military Aid to the Civil Authorities and operational and training deployments

Responsibilities:• Principal staff officer for all strategic movement planning and execution by providing the initial point of contact for MOD, PJHQ and the Front Line Commands on all matters concerning operations, operational and contingency planning and “purple exercises”• Principal representative on the MODs Defence Crisis Management Committee and Current Operations Group VTC meetings• Manage strategic movement, movement policy, doctrine issues and co-ordinate operational briefs for external consumption• Deputised for the Director Operations
