Employment OntarioThis client centric program focuses on individually tailored employment counselling and support programs to assist job seekers in securing gainful employment. Services may include: individual or group assistance in establishing a career objective; résumé and cover letter development; job search strategies; and effective interviewing skills. Professional knowledgeable staff will also provide information on relevant community and government support programs for job search and training including applying to the Second Career Program. The Employment Ontario Employment Service staff will work with you until you meet your employment objective.Canada-Ontario Job GrantEmployers may be eligible to access up to $15,000 of 2/3 of the cost of developing the skills and knowledge of employees. Available to small, medium and large businesses with a plan to deliver short-term training to new and existing employees. Better Jobs OntarioThe Better Jobs Ontario (formerly Second Career) program is an application-based grant program that provides unemployed individuals with vocational skills training.This training program, which takes 52 weeks or less to complete, is available to unemployed individuals for which skills training is the most appropriate intervention to transition them into high-skill, in-demand occupations. This program is available to unemployed individuals, who have been laid-off, or are from a low-income household experiencing challenges attaching to the labour market.TRIEC Mentoring Partnership Newcomers bring talent, innovation, and international expertise but need information and networks to succeed. TRIEC Mentoring Partnership connects recent immigrants with mentors in their professional field - a collaboration between different organizations to make the most of untapped talent.Job Search Workshop for Newcomers This highly interactive and supportive 3 day workshop focuses on job search strategies, Canadian employer expectations and the Canadian workplace culture. Participants will leave the workshop with an individually tailored résumé, cover letter, job search and interviewing skills required to be successful in the Canadian job market. The supportive and experienced staff will continue to offer support to the participant until their employment objective is met.
