As well, he is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). This work involves collaborating with a network of stakeholders consultants to offer a depth and capacity of services through various fields of efficiency and engineering. This work included collaborating with the Ministry of Education Capital Division, the Ministry of Environment Climate Investment, utilities, and non-metro school districts. In this role, he pitched $1.5B CapX to meet BC's 2030 sector GHG reduction target, and initiated or gave guidance to pilot projects leading to an expected net lifetime benefit of $6.2M from initiatives lined up to date. Previously, he lead the groundwork for City of Cranbrook's corporate energy management program which identified approximately $20M in net potential lifetime savings, lead projects resulting in net lifetime benefit of $1M, plus grants.Such work elevates status of existing practices, and strategically guides the organization to develop measurable conservation projects. Other clients have included the sectors of: Education, Hospitality, Healthcare, Telecom, Energy & Utilities, Finance, and Consulting Engineering. A graduate of BCIT's Sustainable Energy Management and UVic's Electrical Engineering programs, his experience spans high tech product conception to energy & environmental management. Jay discovered his call for sustainability practice while doing business management consulting projects around North America.Jay grew up in the East Kootenay's, lived in Vancouver and Victoria for over a decade, and is happy to call Canada home.
