About Unmesh Patil
I am intrigued by the various control strategies implemented to maximize modern advanced hybrid and electric powertrains' performance parameters. Hence, I am currently pursuing my Master's Degree in Automotive Engineering with Clemson University's International Center for Automotive Research. My interest lies in advanced and electrified powertrains. I have worked on numerous academic projects that involved developing hybrid and electric powertrain simulations and control strategies. My paper on electric vehicle power component sizing has been selected to be published in SAE WCX 2021 summit.Presently, I am working as a part of the Deep Orange 12 team to deliver an autonomous capable race-car (It is featured in my LinkedIn background picture). My work involves a complete revamp of the powertrain unit and selection, calibration, and testing of various X-by-wire systems. I am working on a vehicle-level supervisory architecture on a real-time controller. Do check the numerous articles attached to my 'Experience' section of Deep Orange 12 to know more about the Indy Autonomous Challenge and the role of Deep Orange 12 in the project.
