As a BIM/VDC technician at Ístak ehf., I apply my BIM skills and expertise to create and manage digital models of various construction projects. I work with a team of engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure the accuracy, quality, and efficiency of the design and execution process. I have over ten years of experience as a technical draftsman, having previously worked at Lota Consulting Engineers for seven years, where I was involved in several large-scale and complex projects, and I worked at Eykt construction company for three years while they were building the new hospital in Reykjavik. I was working on-site and managed all rebar drawings and planning quantities for the concrete work. I just finished a degree in BIM at Reykjavik University, where I did learn the latest technologies and methods in the field of information technology for construction. I am passionate about BIM and its potential to improve the sustainability, safety, and performance of the construction industyry.
