With a backpack full of solid skills from the previous 20+ years in the furniture industry, I am passionate about breathing life into products so that design quality and business model merge into a higher unity. I am motivated by being able to add innovative solutions and keep the project on track, in collaboration with the project team, designer and suppliers.I have actively participated in idea generation, development, construction, testing, implementation and support of new and existing products. I will be able to contribute positively and effectively from day one in development projects. Sparring and collaboration with internal and external actors is always in focus. My material knowledge is broad and I have extensive experience in processing and manufacturing with e.g. plastic, wood, aluminum, steel and foam. The work is almost always based on construction in 3D, which makes it easy to visualize and analyze a given design.Among the many projects where I have been a driving force, I can mention the Drop chair project for Fritz Hansen A/S. The chair, which was previously only produced in an upholstered PUR version and in a small number, had to be reconstructed so that it could be offered in plastic without upholstery. The solution I came up with through physical tests and simulation in CAD, was two injection-molded plastic shells, which form the visible "flawless" chair shell. The shells are assembled around a molded bracket which adds strength to the construction. The four legs are easily assembled and the chair is ready for dispatch. For the production of the chair, I developed different techniques and machines to minimize costs and simplify processes. Among other things. a system for assembling components utilizing vacuum.The modular Lune sofa is another project I am proud to have developed for Fritz Hansen A/S. I designed the modules to be self-supporting, and made a subframe, which had to assemble the modules, unnecessary. This minimizes the number of legs and the sofa appears light and looks like a conventional sofa. For the project, I developed an assembly method where part of the packaging is included as an active part of the process. It is possible to move, add or remove modules as needed. I introduced the use of QR codes in the assembly instructions. The code opens a link to a short instructional video which is both language independent and can convey understandable information to a recipient without preferences for technology.
