I am the founder and administrator of Unpuzzled Parents Connect, a support group dedicated to empowering parents and families of children with special needs. Driven by a deep commitment to assist families navigating similar challenges that my family and I have encountered personally, this group aims to uplift its members through compassion and actionable support. Our mission is to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment where parents can share experiences, access emotional support, and learn effective coping techniques. We are dedicated to guiding members on how to navigate and access the various supports available from local and national government bodies. By fostering a community of understanding and resource sharing, Unpuzzled Parents Connect strives to make each member’s journey a little easier and a lot more connected. Our group not only focuses on emotional solidarity but also on practical guidance to ensure every family receives the foundational support they need to thrive.Conduct monthly meetings both virtually and in-person to foster community engagement and continuity • Organize class trainings in collaboration with state organizations, including the WVU Neurological Development Center, to enhance parent skills and knowledge • Successfully built a community of over 300 + members that continues to grow, primarily through effective word-of-mouth initiatives • Partnered with companies like discovery world to organize sensory-friendly activities and adapt operational hours to accommodate diverse needs • Assisted local therapists and companies in becoming Medicaid credentialed, enhancing access to essential services • Hosted meetings with prominent advocates in the autism community.
