Working within the LJMU School of Law, I will be working as part of the Professional Services Team on the delivery of the Legal Practice Certificate and the transition to the Solicitors Qualifying Examination. Delivering a wide range of subjects including Civil Litigation, Solicitors Accounts, Professional Conduct, Advanced PI, Employment Law and a range of skills modules including Interviewing and Advising, Advocacy, Practical legal Research and Drafting. I also support students within the acclaimed University Legal Advice Centre.

Senior Lecturer and Solicitor Advocate with responsibility for the delivery of Child Law, Law of Tort and Equity and Trusts modules. The role involves the design and delivery of modules to Undergraduate students on the second and final years of their law degree. In addition to my teaching, I also work closely with the local legal community in regards to employability, careers, short courses and partnerships with the School of Law team with the aim of placing the Law School at the heart of the local legal community.In addition, I also hold External Examiner positions with the University of Hertfordshire and London Metropolitan University.

At the University of Bolton I hold a multitude of roles. As a Practising Solicitor Advocate I have created, developed and led the work of the University Legal Advice Centre. This is a model of best practice in the development of experiential learning experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students. As an Assistant Teaching Professor I have worked with colleagues to embed practical learning experiences within taught programmes with a view to assisting students to contextualise their study whilst developing the key skills needed to succeed in the legal sector. In addition, I have also developed and led the University's innovative LLM programme which incorporates the Solicitors' Qualifying Examination. This has been completed alongside a delivery team who have joined from practice and whom I have provided mentored and supported as they have transitioned to work within an academic environment. I have also taught on a range of modules including Advanced Legal Practice (Streetlaw), Commercial Awareness, Company Law, Employment Law, Equity and Trusts, Law of Tort, Medical Law, Medical Negligence, Preparation for Practice, Professionals in Practice and all LLM/SQE practical and Research modules. I have also held responsibility for departmental recruitment, online content creation, employability and engagement with the local legal sector including a committee role with the Bolton Law Society.

Assisting Claimants with a wide range of matters relating to Personal Injury. I have specific specialisations in Employers Liability, Public Liability and Accident Abroad matters.I also act, on behalf of Law Room, as Business Manager for the practice, I am the first port of call for referrers, introducers and support providers.Within my legal portfolio, I also assist Claimants in regards to Professional Negligence, Clinical and Medical Matters and Industrial Disease, with a particular interest in Noise Induced Hearing Loss. In addition I am also versed in the areas of Private Client, Employment, Financial Sector Claims and Road Traffic Accidents.

As Business Manager at Nationwide Medical it was my role to ensure that our numerous legal and protection partners are able to access the very best of medical expertise on behalf of their clients. Acting as the initial point of contact and ongoing account management function to our partners allowed for the development of services to continually meet the needs of clients.Nationwide Medical was founded in 2011 as a way to ensure that the medical agency service had evolved to meet the needs of the legal, insurance and pensions sectors. We prided ourselves on a truly unique service that was designed around ensuring that each partner organisation and their clients received an individualised service.

Working with the Slater Hayward legal team to identify opportunities to utilise our in house expertise on the widest possible stage. The legal team developed as a direct result of the successful project that had been established to recover Payment Protection Insurance and excess charges. To date this project has recovered sums in excess of £4.1 million.

My role as Business Manager involves the conception, development and delivery of a range of projects within the Spencer Hayes Group. In the Financial Services side of the business, I have organised projects covering Payment Protection Insurance reclaims, Unfair Charges and Pension Provision into the standard offer available to our clients.These projects have focussed on exploring avenues to help our clients to reduce overall debt levels using all means available. To date the PPI and Charges Project has returned some £3.1 million to Spencer Hayes clients since we commenced the process in July 2009 and this continues to grow on a daily basis.The Pensions Project utilises a Financial Review to explore all available avenues to assist our clients including an analysis of existing pension provision and insurance coverage with a view to providing a valued additional service to clients.Following the integration of this service into Spencer Hayes, we have now established partnerships with a number of other companies, charities and PLC's within the debt sector to allow their clients to access the service. This has been a highly successful extension of the projects aims and we continue to expand the number of introducers and clients that we work with.I am also involved in a number of further projects to assist clients and as these develop I will provide updates.Prior to becoming a key part of the financial services business, I had previous involvement in the development, marketing and growth of training, consultancy and events management enterprises under the Spencer Hayes Services banner.

Working alongside the Spencer Hayes Financial Services team to develop and expand our pensions and insurance project to loan providers, debt management organisation, Insolvency Practitioners and Claims Management enterprises.

Recruited as Head of Marketing responsible for all aspects of promoting the colleges offer to its varied audiences. The college also required me to use my Business Development experience, within Further Education, to assist during the restructure of the Business Team and to manage the audit and inspection process for the Train to Gain and partnership contracts.

Leading and developing the Business Development team within the college to establish commercial training programmes on a local and national basis. Working in conjunction with the college Marketing team to develop materials and programmes to support the college’s expansion into commercial training and CoVE activity. Through working with business partners, and the development of the team, we expanded incomes to £300,000 within the first year.

Building partnerships with business to provide links for company employees into training, qualifications and skills development.

Working with businesses in the Tameside area to promote Apprenticeship and funded training opportunities to young people and local business.

As part of the marketing and development team based within the college training unit, I was responsible for the generation of employed vacancy opportunities for the college’s apprenticeship applicants. Over 3 years we were able to grow the training contracts into 2 new TEC contract areas and also successfully secured a National Training Providers contract for the Whitbread Group
