Brought in after a Health/Safety/Environmental audit had revealed major shortcomings, I implemented a remedial program (including rapid evacuation of 150,000 square foot warehouse) which resulted in "zero repeat findings" on revisit, and the auditors' recognition for timeliness, scope and efficiency of remediation.

This system allowed direct linkage to accounts payable (eliminating the need for that function locally) and was eventually adopted nationwide. Wrote and implemented purchasing policies and procedures. Supervised selection of suppliers. Directed negotiations and award of major purchases. Extensive travel to coordinate local and international suppliers.

Designed, built and modified research scientific instrument prototypes and medical devices. Familiar with operation of lathes, drills, mills and other equipment used in the assembly of prototypes in the Advanced Instruments Engineering Department.
