CAN RGX is a design competition that invites undergraduate students to build and test an experiment in microgravity. Our team worked alongside AlbertaSAT's mechanical team to design, manufacture, and assess compliant hinges for CubeSat applications. As co-lead of the project, I oversaw the design of all mechanical and electrical systems in the experiment. Additionally, I organized the procurement and scheduling to meet aggressive deadlines.

With the help of senior engineers at Smith and Andersen, I designed the electrical connections and distribution in several commercial buildings. This involved selecting overcurrent protection for elevators and transformers, sizing conductors for mechanical equipment, and estimating loads based on the intended purpose of a building.

TutorBright was an opportunity to pass university knowledge on to high-school students. My students were mainly enrolled in grade 11/12 mathematics and physics, but I also did some lessons in chemistry. As my students were new to algebra, kinematics, and real analysis, I emphasized fundamentals and applying the information to practical scenarios.

Englobe was my first internship, and it bridged the gap between my construction background and the knowledge I obtained in my first two years of engineering. I adapted skills from my time at Redemptive Developments to operate a mobile concrete testing lab with minimal tooling, eventually leading to the successful construction of 29 wind turbines. My coursework in CAD and technical writing came in handy for drafting reports on the quality of concrete in the post-construction phase.

At Redemptive Developments, I was responsible for maintaining commercial and multi-dwelling-unit properties. My scope spanned from replacing sinks in bachelors’ suites to installing networks of 30+ security cameras in commercial facilities. This position cultivated my appreciation for practical problem solving and inspired me to undertake an engineering degree.
