As a seasonal naturalist I do a little bit of everything in the education department. From helping maintain the pollinator gardens, to running programs, to creating blog posts. Due to CoVid there have been less public programs then usual, but I have still created 3 original programs and done 5+ others. I have also created outdoor displays for spontaneous interactions and the Delaware County Fair. I have also done some roving interpretation with backpacks I put together for myself and the other education seasonal staff.

As a Store Associate at Big Lots I was tasked with providing great customer service and making our customers feel at home in our store. I make sure customers have what they need, answer questions, and fit their needs with products in the furniture department. I also have experience training 10+ new associates, and am commonly given tasks my managers do not trust other associates to complete. Additionally, I have been given lead of groups of people while loading and unloading trucks, and organizing the warehouse 3 times.

As a camp counselor I helped oversee a group of 8 kids through the camp season. I got to know them, led them in some activities, and guided them to each station and activity throughout the day. With my kids I also helped create a fun and open atmosphere for them and helped them have fun in all our activities. Due to the CoVid pandemic my fellow counselors and I had to regularly clean the room and our supplies and track our cleaning.I was also able to create and led three nature themed activities for the entire summer camp, or about 24 kids total. These were a nature scavenger hunt, a short activity about tree rings, and a game to play on a hike.

I worked to patrol the lake are and dam, both in trucks and in boats, to enforce rules and ensure visitor safety. I also worked to maintain the visitor center both inside with creating displays, landscaping outside, and invasive species removal. Specifically, I helped remove house sparrows, purple loosestrife, and teasel.Another major part of my job was interacting with the public for education. I performed dam tours, water safety programs, and manned the visitor center. I also handed out materials about the Army Core and water safety at touch-a-trucks and the Ohio State Fair.I also completed a certification course as a defensive driver for the US Army.Finally, I also organized a trash pick up day at the lake.

I also had to keep track of multiple orders and tasks in a quickly moving environment. Finally, I was also tasked with keeping the kitchen clean and organized for a smooth working working experience.
