    As a Library Assistant III, I specialized in electronic resources and cataloging. Within this position, there were numerous roles assigned to me. In 2011, I assisted in pioneering the Social Media Committee for the TWU Libraries. I was the administrator for the TWU Libraries Facebook and Flickr accounts and also served as backup administrator for our Twitter account. I also used RedDot and HTML to edit our web pages as necessary and served on the Library Web Committee.I served on the 2012-2013 Strategic Planning Committee. The objectives of the committee were to update the library goals, vision and mission statement by soliciting and evaluating feedback from staff. By listening to what my colleagues envisioned and aspired to do, I was able to bring valuable ideas back to the table and ensure that they had a voice in this process.As an electronic resources assistant and cataloger, I performed daily A-Z electronic serials database checks to ensure availability of online access. TWU Libraries is an early adopter of the ExLibris library management system, Alma, which I used daily to prepare, edit, download and update bibliographic records for inclusion in library’s online discovery system. I maintained daily, weekly and monthly statistics to include on activity counts for this task.I provided customer service and research assistance to patrons and students, and assisted in conducting research and library skills workshops for incoming undergrad students. I also hired, trained and supervised student assistants for the Technical Services department.
