I am a graduate from Rutgers University, with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and Health Sciences. I focused my academic coursework on Biological sciences, Health disparities (Equality & Equity, SES and Access to healthcare and other resources), Global Health Perspectives (Preventing disease outbreaks and promoting healthy lifestyles globally), Women’s Health and Wellness and Children’s Health and Education. As a Peer Health Educator, I use creative approaches to engage my peers in health-related materials and inspire them to be active leaders and contributors in our community. My experiences through volunteering in the health-care industry specifically in hospital and hospice programs, internships in the corporate world such as; Archangel Raphael's Mission (ARM) that focuses on educating the homeless on the importance of Hygiene and Sanitation and career interests lie with Global Health Challenges and Collaborations of Firms/Organizations focusing on changing Health-Care Systems. I have been fortunate to have been exposed to Global Health Challenges while pursuing opportunities that enabled me to travel around the globe which includes most countries in Africa, India, U.A.E and U.S.A. My focus is to expand access to healthcare and work towards assisting disadvantaged communities with great opportunities.Growing up in Kenya and choosing to further my education in the U.S has truly changed my perspective of life especially in terms of access to healthcare and health disparities. It has inspired me to work in a field that can provide improved healthcare globally, especially Africa, my home continent. I am fluent in six languages and enjoy traveling and learning about new cultures.
