During the final year of my computer science degree, I presented & won a business idea competition at the SAID Business School at Oxford. The idea wasn't tech-related—it was about farming mushrooms. I proposed growing mushrooms using agricultural waste to help address world hunger while providing livelihoods for underserved farmers. I started my first business by growing mushrooms in the basement of our house & selling them to stores in my hometown.In 2012, I dropped out of one of the top business schools in Pakistan to establish a software services company called Esipick. We are a diverse team of designers, artists, & subject matter experts, bringing together creativity, technical insight, and strategic thinking to find solutions that truly fit our clients' needs. As a fully remote-first organization, Esipick has successfully created job opportunities in remote areas of Pakistan.Over the last four years, alongside a customer-turned-friend and lifelong mentor, Chris, I co-created a software development shop called Appdevv. We approached customer success in a unique way. Chris envisioned Appdevv as a model of success through tight collaboration between a U.S.-based product strategy team & a highly skilled offshore delivery team.At Appdevv, we believe that a clear product strategy is key to success. What sets us apart is delivering this strategy through an offshore team that works closely with customers in their time zone, providing a balanced approach to cost & value without compromising on quality.In 2023, I completed a two-year Master's degree in Visual Arts. My research focused on aerial video documentation of effluents being dumped into freshwater streams. I’ve also worked on eco-friendly housing projects using low-cost, indigenous materials & techniques.My family has been deeply involved in food security and education for many years. My younger brother was honored with the Commonwealth Points of Light Award by Her Majesty the Queen for his work in providing food security to local communities, especially during the covid pandemic. His organization, Rizq, mobilized a network of over 3,000 volunteers to distribute over 2.2 million meals across 23 cities.Additionally, my mother has been running a daily food distribution program, providing home-cooked meals to over 200 families a day. She also operates a free school that offers high-quality education to deserving students in the nearby community.I am passionate about technology, arts, education, and social impact projects, and I love working alongside my mother and Rizq to make a difference.
