Duties: software architecture design and implementation, database design, optimization and debugging of JVM memory issues in production environments (Oracle Jrockit, Sun HotSpot), in-person technical interviews.Select projects:Design and implementation of search service shared by all products (Lucene 4) Technical details: Avro based Lucene application featuring document grouping, phrase search (phrase dictionary), support for Spanish and Portuguese, integration tests (H2 DB) as part of the build process, web interface for user "semantic" tests to adjust boost values, re-ranking results based on empirical customer search data, scripts to measure performance of search versions to track effectiveness of changes.Design and implementation of Hadoop Hive (on Amazon EMR clusters) for stats, reporting and BITechnical details: redesign of internal statistics gathering system, python scripts to process customer usage data and save in HDFS (S3), HIVE scripts to generate statistics for customers and periodic BI reports.

Led the team of 10 people, which included Software Engineers and Billing specialists. Part of the CEO Staff meetings. Worked closely with the CTO and other peers on the strategy and execution. Spearheaded data rescue efforts during the critical failures at our data centers. Within the team, made necessary personnel changes, established clear direction and set clear expectations. Introduced quantifiable KPIs, effectively delegated responsibilities and tracked execution. Most notable projects:Integration with payment systems:• Improved existing broken payment processes. Reached out and integrated with a third-party payment systems (kiosks and banks) to receive and process payments on our behalf. This significantly reduced the number of late payments, as well as decreased the wait-times and staffing at the payment offices. Migration from the "end-of-month" billing to the real-time system:• Led the efforts to change our internal systems to support real-time billing model. Collaborated with other departments: tech, legal, accounting. This was achieved by significantly increased data processing by using hash-table based reduce algorithms, parallel processing (OpenMPI) and dedicated databases to effectively sort and filter data from within CDR files. • This resulted in a significant competitive advantage for the company, since we became the first "landline communication provider" on the market to provide usage statistics in real time.

Recognized the market need for custom software solutions for the government sector and foreign businesses. Founded the company, grew and led the team of 7 full-time engineers. Made sales calls and presented to the prospective clients. Worked across roles (HR, sales, design, product management and engineering) to drive the revenue and profits. Maintained constant client communication regarding requirements and functionality. Most notable projects: Team.Aero : Aircraft Trading Platform • Multi-year engagement with the client. We have built the first prototype and went through countless iterations. Notable features: directory, social "community" platform for members, trading section with advanced search capabilities, dynamic ad system, entire website is fully customizable via admin interface (CMS), RBAC based access controls. Software for Kyrgyzstan’s Population Census 2009 for National Statistics Agency:• Software that allowed high-scale data entry and report generation for Population Census (National Statistics Agency). The biggest technical challenge was to squeeze all of the computing power within vertical scale limitations, this involved performance optimizations on all levels (DB structure and query optimizations, DB replications, code optimizations on both backend and UI side).Joint Stock Companies Registry software for Registrum Ltd.:• Software for the management and storage of information on joint stock companies and their details (securities, shareholders, and dividends).Internal Operations & Workflow Management Software for Trolleybus Administration:• Provided City of Bishkek with comprehensive solution with systems for trolleybus and driver shift scheduling, HR management and tracking, salary calculations, and asset and repair management.Money Transfer System for OneTrans Inc.:• Led the team to designed and develop highly secure money transfer system for the Middle East
