My first interface with entrepreneurship was early in life when I was working to arrange funds to support my education. At age of 19 I set up a printing unit while pursuing LLB. It FAILED, I’m GLAD it did. That’s not where my passion was, it was rather a comfort choice to pursue entrepreneurship dream. Largely influenced from my father who was a successful and respected editor and publicist. The failing of the first venture did leave some debt on me but I always have believed “you have to see failure as the beginning and the middle, but never entertain it as the end”. The only thing I had to dis-invest from that venture was my passion. My learning graph continued, I knew I had to be an entrepreneur but which line of business I wasn’t sure and confident off. I reflect back and see most successful journeys have passed through this phase on uncertainty. But passion must supersede all fears. There was certainly no business legacy to follow. I tried my hands on various jobs from being a marketer to consumer products to front desk executive to a PR manager. They all gave me their share of learning and experiences. Many good to cherish others good to learn and let go. Success demands more than hard work, resilience, and expertise in your field. Important skills I picked up from varied job profiles were Delegation skills. Negotiation skills. Team building skills. Time management skills. Analytical skills.
