About Ushma Desai, Ph.D.

I am a teacher and researcher in the area of human resource having management with more than 12 years of academic experience (approx. 4500+hours of classroom interaction). I have experience in teaching subjects related to human resources, research methodology and statistical analysis at UG, PG and PhD level. Additionally, I have expertise in developing program course structure as per the requirements of NEP 2020 and principles of Outcome Based Education. I have designed approximately 28 curriculum for subjects related to Human Resources, managerial skills, life and self management skills, etc. I have presented and published several research papers at various national and international level. I have delivered 26+ FDPs/SDPs/Seminars/Workshops/Training programs in the area of statistical data analysis, Research Methodology, Career Guidance and Counselling, Stress Management. I have worked on couple of funded research projects for different industries. Also, before beginning my journey as an academician, I was working as research assistant on a project of District Human Development Report for Tapi District which was funded by UNDP. I am currently guiding three doctoral research scholars at Sarvajanik University.I have designed, coordinated and delivered a consultancy project for Surat City Traffic Police Department. The program was divided in two phases. Phase one included training need assessment among police personnel using interview and focus group discussion method.
