I was responsible for building predictive home-price models, identifying strategies to maximize our whole loan mortgage portfolio valuation, and building mortgage pricing sheets. My work was instrumental in generating a significantly higher P&L than budgeted during the financial crisis of 2008.As a consultant at Deloitte Consulting in the late 1990s, I reported and analyzed CRM metrics to feed into sales and marketing initiatives at a telecommunications firm and also built CRM enterprise solutions for other clients. Subsequently, I joined Oracle and helped build their CRM product suite.

However, as with any startup ideas, you need to take baby steps... and our baby step was to set up a math summer camp to help children appreciate the role math plays in real life.We broke the problem down into (a) identifying and sourcing the content, (b) translating that into effective curriculum, and (c) delivering the knowledge in a fun and gripping manner. And delivered 2 week-long camps for 10-20 students each.Making the camp successful also entailed marketing to enroll students as well as partnerships with the Museum of Computer History (for the students to visit the museum as part of the camp) and the owner of a working Enigma (the device used by the Nazis for encryption during World War II, and cracked by Alan Turing and his team of mathematicians).
