Usman A. Shamim is a notable climate change and substance abuse policy advisor from Pakistan with a career that began in 2006 as a development practitioner. In collaboration of the Colombo Plan, Sri Lanka, conducted initial research to assess the prevalence and pattern of drug use; identified high-risk groups, contributing factors and existing gaps; collected quantitative and qualitative data from street awareness sessions, drop-in centers, and community meetings through focus groups, interviews, and surveys; analysed data to comprehend the effectiveness of the interventions; and established indicators and evaluation tools to conduct regular evaluations to monitor progress.
