This research used a qualitative, narrative, and inductive approach, that employs secondary data analysis to understand the impact of climate change on food security in Pakistan and proposed strategies for adaptation and mitigation. Role: Analytical Review & Editing. 2023-2024: Prevalence of Hypertension in Diabetic Patients in Pakistan. The study employed a cross-sectional research methodology to examine the prevalence of hypertension among diabetic patients in various regions. Data was collected in different cities including Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Karachi, Southern Punjab, Islamabad, and North Punjab from clinical records, hospital-based studies, surveys, and research articles, then collated and compared them to identify trends and risk factors. Role: Data Analysis, Review & Editing. 2021-2022: Exploring Local Level Factors That Influence Drug Addiction Among Afghan Refugees, Including Challenges to Obtaining Localised Preventive and Treatment Programmes in Pakistan. Master’s degree research project at Northumbria University, supervised by Prof. Andrew Collins. Role: Literature review, data collection through key informant interviews, data analysis, and writing.

Conducted a comprehensive Noteverbale analysis of responses from Ministries and Government-line departments across 35 countries to evaluate the accessibility of prevention and treatment services for refugees and migrants. This analysis focused on assessing the accessibility of prevention and treatment services for refugees and migrants. The final reviewed document would be integrated by the Vienna office into the UNODC/UNHCR handbook on addressing substance use disorders in humanitarian settings.

This hands-on experience empowered me to craft a policy document for my parent organization, outlining a culturally adaptive version that could be replicated in my hometown.

2014: Biological Control Based Community Integrated Pest Management Program, Pakistan. Conducted a comprehensive baseline survey that included key informant interviews and focus group discussions with non-profit organizations, farmers, local stakeholders, and government-line department. Also played a pivotal role in training approximately 1,000 farmers, raising awareness about the detrimental effects of chemical sprays and pesticides, thereby contributing to sustainable agricultural practices and knowledge dissemination.

2012: UNESCO Chair on Cultural Heritage and Risk Management Ritsumeikan University, Japan. Developed a risk management plan for cultural heritage site “Mehrgarh” in collaboration with the international heritage conservation experts. 2011: Early Recovery Needs Assessment in Support of UN-OCHA In Balochistan During Flooding 2011. Key instruments involved 6 focused group discussion (03 male and 03 female) with flood victims and 19 informant interviews with the government officials. 2010: A Humanitarian Response to Flash Flooding Through the Provision of Non-Food Items In District Jaffarabad, Pakistan. A cross-sectional study focusing on qualitative and quantitative data to identify and support 120 families as most flood affected. Data was collected through a baseline survey to assess the needs and condition of victims. Role: Data collection and analysis, project development, procurement and distribution, and writing. 2010: Drug Treatment Centers to implement evidence-based scientific interventions, Pakistan. By translating research into practice, led a pioneering study with the funding from U.S Embassy on the effectiveness of various culturally based treatment modalities for drug addiction and successfully brought around 424 drug addicts into the recovery process alongside raised drug-related prevention awareness among nearly 10,000 individuals in different community settings. 2006-2010: Drug Addicts Outreach Drop-in-Center, Pakistan. In collaboration of the Colombo Plan, Sri Lanka, conducted initial research to assess the prevalence and pattern of drug use; identified high-risk groups, contributing factors and existing gaps; collected quantitative and qualitative data from street awareness sessions, drop-in centers, and community meetings through focus groups, interviews, and surveys; analysed data to comprehend the effectiveness of the interventions; and established indicators and evaluation tools to conduct regular evaluations to monitor progress.
