As the Executive Director, I build and operate a community-embedded enterprise with a budget ranging from $2.5-$4 Million and continue to build upon an already thriving, local movement for educational equity in the Oklahoma City region, targeting metro OKC and Lawton communities. I maximize the impact of our existing network in the community and work with a broad set of community leaders and organizations to develop the plan to end educational inequity in Central Oklahoma.By leading an exceptional team of committed leaders, I ensure Teach For America makes the greatest impact possible towards those ends. At TFA - Oklahoma City, we invest and engage local stakeholders as vital partners in this work. Through inspiring and focused leadership, I work to ensure that the region reaches its ambitious goals in student achievement, development, and alumni leadership.

As Deputy ED, I was supported by a local advisory board and reported directly to the ED of Oklahoma. I managed a team of 24 regional staff members, with over 165 corps members and nearly 135 alumni. Between our corps and alumni teachers, we directly impacted nearly 14,000 students on a daily basis in Central Oklahoma. We also partnered with a growing cadre of alumni school and system level leaders working to impact thousands of students from all levels of the education system. As the D.ED I had the traditional autonomies of any other TFA executive director but with the coaching and support of a local statewide team led by a statewide executive director.

Implement strategic, statewide training programs for charter school boards, officers, administrators, and business managers to increase the overall capacity of charter school professionals in Texas. Work within a team of skilled professionals to produce repeated excellence in a collaborative environment – all with an aim toward improving and promoting effective open enrollment charter schools. Lead a team of consultants to advice in state and out of state applicants on building a competitive charter school application while building human capital systems to deliver on the promise of quality educational learning environments.Results:- Multi-tasker: manage the development and deployment of over five major statewide training and professional development programs to increase the diffusion of quality charter school practices in Texas- Long-term Planner: manage the strategic and long-range planning processes for professional development for our members, representing close to 90% of the charter students in the state- Coordinator: ensure the effective coordination between member schools for effective learning solutions across all Texas regions- Project Manager: responsible for moving forward regional training projects that aim to further TCSA's statewide mission and impact- Driver: manage the implementation of TCSA's long term strategic plan around quality professional development and support

I provided top-class bilingual moderation services to include any or all of the following duties as requested by LiveWorld, and according to the policies of the company and its various Fortune 500 company clients: Sweeping of client content, which could include Facebook Wall posts and comments, message boards, chat boards, user groups, blog entries, videos, pictures, or audio files on either LiveWorld or client platforms; brand response moderation to enhance company image in online communities. It was a fast-paced, awareness driven, think on your feet role and I enjoyed it tremendously.

I provided senior level program planning and development of policy, training and technical assistance related to federal and state government contracts. Implemented contract quality assurance and risk management related to agency contracting infrastructure and practices. Lead the development of strategic direction for contracting operations, including implementation of statewide training program for professional staff with contracting, procurement, and monitoring responsibilities. Through data analysis, direct observation and interaction with the operations teams, identified process reengineering and automation opportunities. Presented project proposals, along with supporting financial and operational data, to senior management for approval and prioritization.Proposed and implemented technology solutions which will enable the operations teams to function more efficiently and effectively. Ensured that technology solutions adhered to the overall strategic direction. Results: - Succeeded in delivering a 25% reduction in contract package preparation time. - Published enhanced contract templates and streamlined forms that resulted in over 30% reduction in paper forms required for contracts.- Doubled website publication capacities; awarded the most productive award by staff and unit Director.

Implemented and maintained an on-line contract handbook as a resource for staff across the state. Designed and launched Contracting Basic Job Skills curriculum for state contract management, including e-training solutions. Served as a bilingual liaison to agency's training committee for annual training conference; managed complex multi-year policy project revamping procurement policies and processes. Managed the timely execution of key business projects. Lead project teams executing internal departmental projects and participated as the Contract Administration leader on projects initiated by external business partners. Prepared project documentation including but not limited to vision statements, business charters, detailed business requirements and project plans. Provided detailed tracking to established objectives as well as key performance measurements. Results:- Resolved multi year gap of training for new contract staff. Succeeded in training over two hundred people in two year time frame, provided a resolution to agency audits to improve contract management. Increased overall participant satisfaction by over 10 % in two years. - Improved procurement efficiencies over 15 %; achieved 25% reduction in administrative delays caused by lack of clear controls.

As a part time CCI Local Coordinator, my duties included placing and supervising international students and host families in the United States, as well as acting as a local source of information to American students wishing to study and travel abroad.I am an bilingual advocate for these types of exchange experiences in the community and the workplace. They are pivotal to effect change at the most personal of levels and get past superficial myths that divide peoples and make them ineffective in driving positive social change.

Led the transition of this local social innovation project to a statewide program with operations in Austin, Weslaco, Edinburg, Pharr, Rio Grande City, Ed-Couch, San Antonio, and Dallas, TX. Negotiated agreements for program pilots throughout Texas. Managed and expanded assigned territory for providing youth and family services directly to clients, local governments, school districts, and courts. Called on prospective/established customers, providing programmatic and administrative service information and/or demonstrations. Effectively performed needs assessments and developed engaging presentations. Worked with executive staff, operations, finance, and other internal and external clients as needed to obtain service agreements. Followed through with client base using best practice customer relationship management principles to ensure satisfaction with services provided.Results:- Facilitated the transition of the program into new markets with operations in Austin, Weslaco, Edinburg, Pharr, Rio Grande City, Ed-Couch, San Antonio, and Dallas, TX and was highlighted in a May 2005 Scholastic Magazine article.- Designed and delivered a “train the trainer” curriculum to over 100 program facilitators across Texas.

Developed class curriculum and structure for the eight month program. Coordinated events, activities, and classes, maintained updated files on every customer in the program and submitted weekly and monthly reports. Supervised program participants and evaluated progress through home and school visits, gathering information from parents, working with teachers and principals, and following up on behavior referrals in the classroom and progress on schoolwork.Results:- Achieved a recidivism rate below 20% for juvenile offenders completing the program and graduating.- Improved referrals to the program by 40% in a one year period. - Piloted new efforts to produce a more effective program through a partnership with Family Forward by the use of Family Discussion Groups.

Effectively communicated United Way message during large employee meetings with participating companies during an extremely hard fundraising year following September 1th, 2001. Acted as bilingual liaison between United Way and Campaign Coordinators on assigned accounts. Results:- Achieved fundraising goal in assigned accounts for over 50% of the campaign total of $20,619,108 in a three month period– one of the most successful total campaign results at the time.

Supported Executive Director, with communications to the Council membership. Assisted in scheduling appointments, preparing appropriate meeting materials, receiving and responding to requests for assistance and information. Attended meetings on the Legislature by keeping careful notes on the subjects of interest to the Council for use in the weekly newsletter.

The AmeriCorps Youth Harvest program engaged high school seniors from nine local school districts to serve as tutors for students learning basic reading skills. Members were placed in local elementary schools, after-school programs, and community and faith-based organizations. At their sites, members implemented tutoring programs to meet their individual client needs.
