What started as a GIS Index project in a Geospatial Mapping company has since grown into one of the busiest GIS sites on the internet, helping people with their GIS data needs ranging from GeoEye Ikonos, DigitalGlobe QuickBird and WorldView, Astrium/SPOT Pleiades, and other Satellite Images, USGS and other Digital Elevation Models, DeLorme, Collins and other vector datasets, MapInfo, Esri, and other Software.Presently, I lead the technology development, online marketing, and innovation efforts for the company's GIS data distribution eCommerce system. Also responsible to direct the IT/Programming teams with a special focus on delivering exceptional user experience and continuous innovation.In addition to MapMart®, our MapMart Cloud ® System (http://www.mapmartcloud.com) allows our clients to access imagery with client-side GIS and CAD software and WMS as a web service through the internet or within the organization via their intranet. The hosted solution is designed to eliminate the many problems associated with handling, organizing, sharing, and accessing terabytes of digital imagery that businesses and government agencies need for their everyday work environment. Because imagery is organized, and ingested at the server side, there is a significant cost saving. At the heart of this system is a proprietary, custom-created data ordering system. This web portal is designed to allow customers to find and order existing imagery or to order new aerial or satellite imagery. The interface is similar to the online ordering system of MapMart® but is custom-designed for seamless integration with the MapMart On-Demand Image Server.
